What do we eat?

On May 11th 2017 international conference about food safety under the name ͵͵What do we eat?” will be held at Hotel Falkensteiner in Belgrade. The conference is organized by TMS CEE, cooperation partner of TÜV SÜD, in cooperation with the media company BIZLife. TÜV SÜD exists more than 150 years and is the largest German TÜV, and through TMS CEE, it is already 16 years in Serbia. The conference is supported by the Ministry of Agriculture and Environmental Protection and the International Featured Standards.

The goal of the conference is to present the latest developments in primary agricultural production and the food industry in Europe and Serbia. Elements necessary for the efficient operation and maintenance of high standards in the entire chain of production and sale of food will be pointed out.

Modern distribution and consumption of food is characterized by high dynamics, as well as increasingly high requirements regarding safety and the quality of food. Many incidents that are happening around the world because of contaminated food, imply the consequences which are reflected in a worrying level of health and consumer safety, and are resulting in significant economic losses.

Agriculture and food safety are very important areas, both for the EU and for Serbia.

Therefore, on the conference “What do we eat” the following issues will be discussed:

·        Food safety in Serbia today

·        Experiences from suppliers’ audits

·        Specifics of certain types of production

·        Identification and traceability in meat, dairy and baking industry, as well as in retail chains

·        Recall

·        Primary and organic production

·        Animal welfare and feedstuff

The conference will be opened by Branislav Nedimović, Minister of Agriculture and Environmental Protection of the Republic of Serbia.
